Dianne Garrett, 61, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at a Topeka care facility. She was born on November 7, 1945 in Topeka, the daughter of Melvin L. and Laura Gayle Weeks Goff. She was a licensed Mental Health Technician and was active in the Mental Health Field for many years, as well as an accomplished award winning poet. She is survived by her daughter, Audra Lee Garrett of Shawnee, a sister, Loubelle Vandeventer of San Antonio, TX, a brother, Chase (Ron) Goff of Charleston, SC and her best friend, Jenny Wright of Topeka. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Burial will follow. Dianne will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to a mental health agency of the donor's choice or to the Friends of the Topeka Zoo, 635 S.W.
