Dianna J. Bloom, 68, Topeka, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022.
She was born August 18, 1954, in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Byron and Bridget (Sommers) Foster.
She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1972.
After graduating from high school, Dianna worked for her father at Hall Lithographing Company for over 20 years until it closed in 1992. She later worked at KNI and Greenbush. She volunteered at Helping Hands Humane Society, Midland Hospice, and most recently Second Chance Services, an organization that assists the unhoused. She was loved and admired by the unhoused community; so much so, that she could walk behind the mission or down on the river anytime day or night and would be 100% safe.
Survivors include her mother, Bridget; four sisters, Sue (Mike) Galbraith, Sharon Wright, Janet Norris, and Janis Roberts; her fiancé, Dr. Russell P.D. Burton; step-daughter, Brieanna M.Z. Burton-Kimple; and step-son, Elisha R.A. Burton; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and her dog Daisy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Byron, brother-in-law, James Roberts, nephew, Jimmy Roberts, and step-daughter, Shanna Burton.
Dianna was an animal lover, enjoyed bird watching, was an avid gardener, was fond of traveling, blues music and baseball games! She also enjoyed apple pie, but not hot dogs!
A memorial service will be at 2pm Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka.
