Desiree' Rias, 59, of Topeka, Kansas passed away on July 26th, 2014 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS.
She was born on January 27, 1955 the daughter of Zella and Richard Lawton. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Lawton.
Desi worked for Topeka Independent Living as a caregiver for many years and had a very special client that she took care of named Paul.
Desi was a very kind and loving person who loved playing Bingo and going to the casino, where she enjoyed playing her favorite machine: the Tiki Torch.
She is survived by her husband, Leslie Webb, by her mother, Zella Lawton, four daughters, Amara Martin, Zell-Ron Porter, Rhonda Buchannan, and Shampayne Lloyd, a son, Tray Porter, three sisters, Cheryl Starnes, Sonja Stubbs, and Chaylce Howard of Topeka, one brother, Richard Lawton, Jr. (Joyce) of Topeka, KS, 18 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren as well as a host of other family and friends who she also loved so dearly.
Funeral ceremonies will be at 11 a.m., Monday, August 4 at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 610 E. Lime St., Topeka, KS. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 3 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka.
