Denise E. Figgs

Denise E. Koci Figgs, 51, of Auburn, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at a Topeka hospital. She was born on October 23, 1955 in Topeka, the daughter of D. Eugene and Josephine M. Lysek Koci. She graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1973. She was employed by American States Insurance and then Capitol Federal Savings for 12 years. She was a member of Fairlawn Heights Wesleyan Church. Denise married Larry D. Figgs on April 12, 1975 in Auburn. He survives. Other survivors include twin daughters, Jessica M. Figgs of Topeka, Jennifer E. Scott and husband, Chuck of Topeka, one grandson, Jackson, three brothers, Galen Koci and wife, Marggie of Topeka, Victor Koci of Meriden, Milton Koci and wife, Carole of Topeka, brother-in-law, Rick Figgs of Topeka, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jack and Rita Figgs of Topeka and several nieces and nephews. Denise was preceded in death by one brother, Delmar Koci in 1963 and one brother-in-law, Dave Figgs in 2004. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Auburn Cemetery. Denise will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. today at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed.
