Delpha L. "Dee" Heumann, 81, of Topeka, passed away Friday, January 3, 2003 in a local hospice. She was born on April 18, 1921 in Ozawkie, KS to Mell and Ethel Owens Metzger.
Mrs. Heumann was educated in the Ozawkie public schools. She moved to Topeka in 1939. She worked in the accounting department of Santa Fe Railway from 1942 to 1956. Mrs. Heumann also worked for Heumann Dental Laboratories, Inc. from 1957 to 1979 and Fleming Companies, Inc. from 1974, until her retirement in 1984.
On October 3, 1951 she married Warren W. Heumann, he passed away on April 7, 1998.
Survivors include her son; Keith Heumann of Topeka, KS; sister, Fern Meredith of Topeka, KS and 2 grandsons.
Mrs. Heumann was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and Order of The Eastern Star, Chapter #462.
Mrs. Heumann will lie in state on Monday, January 6, 2003 from Noon to 9pm, the family will receive friends from 4-6 pm, Penwell-Gabel Mid Town.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 7, 2003 in Mt. Hope Mausoleum Chapel at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow the services.
