Delilah was born Friday, September 13, 1936, the daughter of Christian and Lydia Schilling in Follett, TX. She was raised in Follett graduating from Follett High School. Upon graduation she moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where she began working for Champlin Oil Company. She met her husband Dale B. Mazachek in Enid while he was in pilot training for the Air Force at Vance Air Force Base. Dale and Delilah were married August 17, 1957 at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Enid within months of meeting for the first time. They immediately began their life journey around the world with the Air Force.
During their military service, the family lived in California, South Carolina, Scotland, Spain, and Alabama. The family completed their military service where it began in Enid, Oklahoma, at Vance Air Force Base. Delilah worked once again for Champlin Oil Company in Enid and then moved with the company to the Dallas Fort Worth area where she worked until her retirement in 1998 from Union Pacific Resources in Fort Worth. Dale and Delilah moved to Granbury, TX, in 2000 to enjoy their retirement years. After spending many years in Texas, they recently moved to Topeka, Kansas to be closer to family.
Delilah was a committed mother, wife, nana, sister and aunt. She devoted her life to raising her three children and creating a loving home. She was a life-long Lutheran and was dedicated to sharing her faith with others. Delilah loved to be around people and always enjoyed a good cup of coffee and lively conversation. She enjoyed serving others and her time with the Red Cross were some of her most meaningful years of giving to others. She was an officer in Desk and Derrick in Fort Worth and was an instrumental part of planning for a new sanctuary for her church in Granbury.
Delilah is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Dale; her children, Carol Reily of Monument, CO; Keith Mazachek (JuliAnn) of Topeka, KS; Patti Kastens (Larry) of Roswell, GA; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Jean Hardwicke and Helen Stewart. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Edwin Schilling and Irwin Schilling; and sisters, Lorene Meller, Esther Riffel and Juanita Schilling.
Delilah would want all of us to remember that during this time of earthly sorrow, she is rejoicing with her Savior in her heavenly home.
