Debra Jean Armstrong Snow, 69, of Topeka, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019.
She was born June 7, 1950, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Lois (Hansen) Armstrong.
She was a fighter, strong willed and determined. She will be known for her determination when it came to helping those she worked with and their fate with the company. She was formerly employed by Southwestern Bell, now AT&T. She worked there as Communications Consultant. She was also strong willed when it came to Democratic Politics and would defend herself.
In the 1970's she was the former Director of Up With People. Her involvement with the community continued as the years went by. She was the residing President of D.A.C., past President of the local Union CWA 6401; there being on the Bargaining Committee and a part of the Federation of Labor Committees, AFL-CIO.
When it came to singing, she was extremely gifted. She will also be known for her love for all things Halloween. Her house the place to go to for Trick-Or-Treating; having decorations both inside her home and out. One of her most memorable past times is her love for traveling to Spain with her sister, Teresa. Above all else, she had an unconditional love for her family and friends.
Debra married Chuck Snow in 1976 at Faith Lutheran Church; he preceded her in death on November 10, 1978. Survivors include a son, Charlie (Carrie) Snow, III; sister, Teresa Smukal; grandchildren, Aidan Rolin, Caleb Rolin, Carly Rolin and Charles Robert Snow IV and her companion, Joe Willmon. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law, Gary Smukal.
The family will greet friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Penwell-Gabel - Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka.
A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2019 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Instead of Memorial Contributions, the family suggests floral arrangements in her memory.
