Deborah L. Rogers, 61, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011.

Deborah was born on March 13, 1950, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, daughter of Robert and Ernestine (Curtis) Rogers. She graduated from Highland Park High School and Washburn University. Deborah worked as a bus driver for Topeka Transit, and previously had been a medical transcriptionist at various medical offices. She was a member of A.T.U. #1360.

Deborah enjoyed fishing, boating, bowling, and spending time with her boys and pets.

Deborah is survived by her mother, Ernestine Rogers, daughter, Jessica (Jayme) Malsom, grandsons, Aaron and Curtis Malsom, brother, Robert (Belinda) Rogers, sister, Tina (Jack) Burghart, five nieces, and beloved partner, Margie Wolf.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Deborah will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday.
