Deborah Jeanne Hamm, 63, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024 in her home.
She was born October 16, 1960, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Robert and Linda (Roush) Eaton. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1978. She obtained her license as a Barber and later became a CNA.
Deborah was employed with Select Hospital in Topeka for many years.
Deborah married Kevin Hamm on August 24, 2006 in Lawrence. He survives.
Other survivors include daughter, Ashley (Brian) Lang, step-children, Jason (Net) Hamm, Ryan Hamm, and Ashley (Jordan) Ashford, grandchildren, Cidney & Kennedy Lang, Salvatoré & Triston Martinez, step-grandchildren, Alex Hamm, Lucas & Philip Hamm, Ava & Nola Ashford, sisters, Lori (Daniel) Wray, Robin (Dale) Kaff and Tammy (Devon) Layer, and aunt, Joyce (John) Fay.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, David Martinez.
Deborah was a very active person. Always getting outdoors for gatherings and events. She had a knack for gardening, and loved going to the farmers markets. She loved spending time with her family, attended and participated in her grandchildren’s sporting events, being a tennis player herself. She was extremely artistic and was always dressed to the nines for every occasion. She would even dress up her home for the special gathering of friends and family, and the holidays, especially Christmas. She could sew and cook with the best of them. Her love extended beyond her family and friends to birds and her dogs Cooper and Willow.
Deborah’s wishes were for cremation. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66606.
