Deanna Burris-English, 75, a resident of Topeka, KS and a former long-time resident of Altoona and Fredonia, KS passed away on January 25, 2022, at The House at Midland Care Hospice, surrounded by her two loving daughters; Cherie Pollina and Patricia Pleasant.
Deanna was born on October 21, 1946, in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Charles and Viola Wolf. She was a graduate of Altoona High School. She worked as a Para Educator for the Altoona-Midway School District for several years. While raising her two caring children, she worked at Prestige Cabinets as a Customer Service Manager for nearly 30 years at which point she later retired. After retirement, she met and later married Butch English. They lived a fun and active life in Oklahoma. After Butch's passing in 2014, Deanna later moved to Topeka, KS to live with her daughter Patricia and son-in-law, Trevor Pleasant. Deanna loved cooking and spending time with her family. In the many years that she was with us, Deanna was well known for being a kind-hearted and gentle soul who was often thinking and praying for her family and friends that she so loved.
Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Wolf and Viola "Vi" Bongiorni and step-father Eugene Bongiorni; brother Richard Wolf; her sister Janice Greenland; and Eugene Jr. Bongiorni. She is survived by her two daughters, Cherie Pollina and son-inlaw Joe Pollina of Kansas City, MO, Patricia Pleasant and son-in-law Trevor Pleasant of Topeka, KS, and her brother Gary Bongiorni and sister-in-law Nyla Bongiorni of Thayer, KS. Step-daughter Lisa English Lamb of Gordon, GA, and Step-sons Keith English of Moore, OK, and Bruce English of Newalla, OK.
There will be a celebration of life at a later time TBD. Family ask for memorials to be made to the American Lung Association in Deanna's name in lieu of flowers.
