Dean R. Little, 85, of Topeka, passed away on October 10, 2010. He was born Feb. 19, 1925, in Wakarusa, KS, the son of Clarence W. and Allie Neill Little.
He attended Highland Park High School until joining the U.S. Army during WWII. On Feb. 12, 1950, in Topeka, Dean married Mary Ellen Boner. She survives. He retired in 1986, after 39 years of service, from Southwestern Bell. Dean was a member of the Arab Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite, Masonic Lodge AF & AM #225, American Legion Post # 1, and a life member of the AT&T Pioneers, all of Topeka. He and Mary Ellen enjoyed traveling with their children throughout the lower 48 states. Dean very much enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen; daughter, Kelley Anne Evertson of Topeka; son, Clint W. (wife J.J.) Little of Adel, GA; and grandson, Aron Criqui of Adel, GA. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Adkison and Gladys Luce.
Private family graveside service will be held on Friday Oct. 15, 2010, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Children's Fund c/o Arab Temple, 1305 S. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66612-1332.
