Dean L. Snepp, 82, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.
Dean was born May 9, 1933, in Pharisburg, Ohio, the youngest son of Virgil and Virginia (Steadman) Snepp. Dean married Evelyn Harris on March 20, 1955. Evelyn later passed away on May 17, 1997. He then went on to meet Marcia Bell and they were married December 31, 1999. Marcia passed away December 8, 2014. Dean served in the Army during the 1950s. He retired from over the road truck driving after 30 plus years. Dean enjoyed racing stock cars back in the 1970's. He loved camping, fishing, car shows, NASCAR, and bowling. He loved all of his Crosley Cars, especially his 1951 Crosley Hot Shot convertible, "Little Blue".
He is survived by his four children, Larry (Susan) Snepp, Becky (Terry) Poe, Terry (Rachel) Snepp, and Dean A. Snepp all of Topeka; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Sylvia) Snepp, Hugh (Laurel) Snepp, and Dale Snepp; sister, Bonnie (Gerry) Greene; and his faithful dog, Molly.
Dean was preceded in death by both of his wives, Evelyn and Marcia; parents; daughter, Charlene Hardesty; and son-in-law, Glen Hardesty; brother, Neil Snepp; sisters-in-law, JoAn Snepp and Connie Snepp; and great-granddaughter, Hope Poe.
A funeral ceremony will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
