Dean P. Duermeier, 66, of Topeka, passed away, Wednesday, February 14, 2007.
"Mr. D" was born March 18, 1940 in Mankato, MN the son of L.A. and Marguerite Duermeier. "Mr. D" served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Dean was a CLU with National Reserve Life Insurance Company and a registered representative with B.C. Christopher and Company. He owned and operated several restaurants and bars in Topeka most notably Mr. D's and Scotties.
He was the president of Capitol City Basketball League.
He was preceded in death by his son Scott D. Duermeier February 14, 2001, his parents, his step mother Delores Duermeier, a brother Dave Duermeier and a sister Deborah La Tempa. Survivors include his son Kevin Duermeier and his wife Kelli, his grandson Noah Lundy Duermeier, and two siblings, Dennis Duermeier and Diane Martino.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2007 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. "Mr. D" will lie in state after 12:00 noon Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited immediately following the visitation.
