David Carl Lira, 51, Carbondale, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2005 at his home.
David was born July 23, 1953 in Topeka, the son of Sylvester and Carolina Juarez Lira.
He grew up in Carbondale and owned Dave's Super Saver Grocery in Auburn for many years. He later worked for Topeka Metal Specialties.
David married Dodie McBurney on September 23, 1994. She survives. Other survivors include sons: David Michael Lira, Wakarusa and Nathaniel Lira, Topeka; and daughters: Rebecca Lira, Auburn, Amy Thornton, Debra Wietharn and Misty Bosch-Hastings, all of Topeka; grandchildren; Chelsea, Matthew, Tyler, Jacob, Sailor, Madison, Mason, Jordan, August, Shane, Tomasa, Aiden, and great grandchildren: Rylie and Ryan; his parents Sylvester and Donna Lira, Carbondale; two brothers: Steve Lira, Alma and Paul Lira, Scranton and a sister: Carol Ann Hager, Carbondale, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
Memorial services will be on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at the Berry Creek Weslyan Church in Carbondale.
