David L. Bixler
David L. Bixler, 48, of Topeka passed away Thursday, September 15, 2005 in Topeka.
David was born to Gale and Nancy Bixler Entrikin on October 12, 1956 in Wamego, Ks. He grew up in the Topeka area and attended Crestview Elementary, Capper Junior High, and Topeka West High School. David was married to Joan Penner Bixler from 1983 to 1994 and had two daughters, Maggie and Bailey. He received certification in Heating and Air Conditioning at Kaw Valley Area Technical School. David was employed by McCrite Plaza Retirement Community.
David enjoyed listening to music as well as playing his guitar. He had an appreciation for nature which included fishing, camping, and golf.
He is survived by two daughters, Bailey Bixler of Topeka, and Maggie Bixler of Lawrence; his mother Nancy Entrikin and her husband Max of Eskridge; one sister, Marsha Bixler of Topeka; and his companion, Kate Clinkenbeard of Topeka.
David was preceded in death by his father, Gale Bixler.
A celebration of David's life will be at 1:00p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2005 at the YMCA Camp Hammond, 6320 SE Stubbs Road, Berryton, Ks. A covered dish would be appreciated. It will be a time of music and sharing; please bring your memories and musical instruments. Memorial Contributions may be sent to The Salvation Army National Headquarters, "Disaster Relief", P.O. Box 269, Alexandria, VA 22313.
