David Keith, 84, of Topeka, died October 5, 2002 at a Topeka care facility.
Mr. Keith was employed by the Kansas Board of Health and Environment 38 years until his retirement in 1983.
He was born July 19, 1918 in Airdrie, Scotland, the youngest son of Archibald and Elizabeth (Craig) Keith. He came to the United States with his family in 1927 and settled in Southeast Kansas. He graduated from West Mineral High School and attended IBM school in Los Angeles, California. He worked with IBM Machines and Data Procesising until his retirement.
He married Harriet Klein October 10, 1946 in Neal, Kansas, She survives. Other survivors include:

and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2002 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, Topeka. Graveside services will follow 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at the Reece Township Cemetery in Greenwood County, Kansas. Mr. Keith will lie in state one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Capper Foundation, 3500 W. 10th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
