David Keith Carlson, 65, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012.
He was born January 29, 1947 in Topeka, the son of Elvin and Marjorie (Lockenour) Carlson. He was a graduate of Topeka High School.
Mr. Carlson was employed by Etzel's, Chip Carriers and later for McClain Trucking in Topeka.
He was a member of West Side Baptist Church and the Kansas Buckskin Horse Association, both in Topeka.
David married Wanda Calvert in 1966 and later married Sheila Kitt March 9, 1974. Survivors include two daughters, Heather (Chris) Long, Carbondale and Leah Carlson, Topeka; five grandchildren, Krsandra Hastings, Tylisa Carlson-Neal, Trenton Carlson-Penry, Alexandria Flowers and Julia Allen; a great-grandson, Austin Emery; and a brother Terry (Laurie) Carlson, Cape Coral, FL.
Honoring his request, Mr. Carlson was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be 3 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care of Kansas, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66604.
