David "Dave" Guerrero, 50, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013.
Dave was born September 29, 1963, in, Topeka, the son of Florenzio and Melvina Mattwaoshe (Kitchie) Guerrero.
He was a graduate of Hayden High School in 1981.
Dave married Kelly Leucht on September 7, 1991, at Assumption Catholic Church, Topeka.
He was employed by Sound Recording for many years, but recently, was employed at Solid State Communications.
Dave loved spending time with his family, especially his son, Jon. He coached Jon in baseball and soccer. Dave had an avid love for classic cars and music. Dave and Kelly played in the band, Airegin, for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Kelly Guerrero and their son, Jon Guerrero; sister, Barbara (Sal) Giardina; aunt, Ophelia (Robert) Nicholson; and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lawrence Guerrero.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church, 204 SW 8th Avenue, Topeka. Interment will follow.
Dave will lie in state after 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka, where a prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m., with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
