David John Forbes

David John Forbes, 66, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
He was born December 19, 1956, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Robert and Nadine (Gillaspy) Forbes. He grew up in the Carbondale area and graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School in 1975. He attended KAW Valley Technical College where he studied mechanics and welding. He enjoyed farming on the family farm, especially raising livestock.
David was a much beloved resident at Providence Living Center and was known for his generosity; always sharing his candy bars and peppermints with residents and staff.
Survivors include three brothers, Steven Forbes, Quinlan, TX, Don Forbes (Tammy), and Marc Forbes (Kelli), all of Carbondale; one sister, Sandy Sleichter (Rex), Carbondale; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Connie Forbes.
Graveside services will be 11am Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Carbondale Cemetery.
