David L. Figgs, 52, Topeka, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004 at his home.
He was born Aug. 29, 1952 in Topeka, the son of Jack and Rita Watson Figgs. He graduted from Highland Park High School and was a lifelong Topeka resident.
Mr. Figgs had been employed at Jostens for the past three years.
He was a member of the Combat Air Museum and Friends of the Topeka/Shawnee County Public Library. He studied entomology, and had raised and sold butterflies.
Survivors include his parents, Jack and Rita Figgs, Topeka; brothers, Rick Figgs, Topeka and Larry Figgs and wife Denise of Auburn; three nieces, Jennifer Figgs, Jessica Figgs, and Apryl figgs, and a nephew, Adam Figgs, all of Topeka.
Services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Cremation will follow.
Mr. Figgs will lie in state after noon Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
