David C. Counter, 55, Topeka, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014.
He was born July 30, 1958, in Topeka, the son of Harlan and Billie Yarber Counter.
David was a graduate of Topeka West High School and received two degrees from the University of Kansas. He was very proud of the hard work and dedication he put into receiving a U.S. patent for an original product idea.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, and KU athletics.
Survivors include his son, Connelly David Counter; mother, Billie Counter; brother, Gerald "Jerry" Counter; sister, Deborah (David) Ferrell; and brother, Randy (Sally) Counter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harlan Counter.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2014, at the Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connelly Counter Memorial Fund c/o CoreFirst Bank & Trust.
