Daryl Eugene Clark, 80, of Topeka, passed away on June 4, 2017.
He was born in Meriden, KS on October 15, 1936 to Herbert Leon and Flossie Mae (Chapman) Clark.
Daryl served his country as a Private in the Korean War, and was honorably discharged from the United States Army before joining the Army National Guard where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He was an active member of VFW Post 1650, for many years, serving as the Post Commander for two years. He was a barber for over 50 years, and he took great joy in talking to clients while cutting their hair. Daryl also loved K-State Wildcat football!
Daryl married Corinne (Bronson) Clark, in 1989. The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 2014 by renewing their vows at Gage Park among friends and family.
Daryl and Corinne attended Highland Heights Christian Church where he served as a Deacon; they also attended Town and Country Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Corinne Clark, of Topeka; four children from prior marriages, Joanna (Jeff) Beil , of Reno, NV, Wanda (Ron) Nelson, of Battle Mountain, NV, James (Stacy) Clark, of Topeka, and Shelly (Ron) Epps, of Durham, NC; three step-daughters, Connie Jo (Dudley) Havens, of Topeka, Dawn Bernhardt, of Mesa, AZ, and Penny (Marlin) Crouse, of Topeka; 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; as well many extended family members and close friends.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Vernon K. Clark, Lela L. Wilson, Lola N. Penry and infant brother Virgil Clark. He was also preceded in death by three great-grandchildren, Tyler Crouse, Gabby Greeve, and Devin Greeve.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial with military honors provided by VFW Post 1650 will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka.
Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to VFW Post 1650 or to Midland Care Hospice.
