Darren B. Rice, 55, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017.
He was born September 7, 1961 in Topeka, the son of Frank M. and Betty J. (Weaver) Rice.
Darren was a 1979 graduate of Topeka High School and attended Kansas State University. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served overseas in both the Philippians and England. He then received his Bachelor's Degree from Ft. Hays State University and worked as a draftsman with various engineering firms in the Kansas City area for many years. He was especially fond of spending time at the family farm in Dover, fishing with friends.
He is survived by his mother; sisters Kathy Rodee (Tim) and Laurie Evans (Richard); nephew Blake Rodee (Kristin), niece Morgan Linebarger (Josh), nephew Alex Evans (Nisha) and nephew Connor Evans; five great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank M. Rice.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 23 at St. David's Episcopal Church, 3916 SW. 17th St., Topeka, KS 66604.
