Darlene G. Polley, 81, Topeka, died Friday, June 25, 2004 at Aldersgate Village.
She was born July 26, 1922 near Valley Falls, the daughter of Jerome and Florence Reichart Jinks. She lived in the Arrington community for 18 years, attending Rocky Point school and Effingham County High School.
Mrs. Polley worked in Kansas City, Ks, where she met and married Harry Polley. They lived in the Easton, Ks community for thirty-two years, where she was a member of the Baptist Church, and also of Hebron Baptist Church, where she taught pre-school children. She also taught piano for eight years.
Mrs. Polley moved to Topeka in 1978 and worked as a Home Health caregiver for ten years. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and had served as an officer of W.M.U.
Survivors include three sons, Ed Polley of Boynton Beach, FL, Dr. Robert Polley of Peoria, IL, Tom Polley of Bonner Springs, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private inurnment will be in Muscotah Cemetery.
