Darlene Lambert Bland, 71, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011. She was born June 5, 1939, in Amarillo, TX, the daughter of Ralph and Lorraine Countryman.
Darlene was a graduate of Topeka High School and Clarks School of Business. She worked for Santa Fe Railroad from 1957-1983 and was a member of The Women of the Moose.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Charlene Dean.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil Bland; niece, Amber Morris; great nephews, Matthew Brady, Brooks Brady, and Danny Morris; and great niece, April Morris.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is handling arrangements.
