Darlene M. Gutierrez

Darlene M. Gutierrez, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 at a Topeka hospital. She was born July 3, 1935 in Longford, KS, the daughter of Leon and Velda (Macy) Frost.
Darlene graduated from White City High School and attended Washburn University. She was self-employed.
Darlene married Willie Gutierrez on June 19, 1955 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1995.
Survivors include their children, Deborah Gutierrez of Topeka, Lori Gutierrez-Case of LaCygne, KS, Sally (Ken) Gutierrez-Sedgwick of Topeka, four grandchildren and her brother, George Frost.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Darlene will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to The Mayo Clinic Department of Development, Attn: Dr. Keith Josephs Neurological Program, 200 First St., S.W., Rochester, MN 55905.
