Darlene Payne, 55, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born December 20, 1959 in Lawrence, KS, the daughter of Dick and Rebecca Allington.
Darlene was employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. She was a member of USW Local 307 and ABATE of Kansas District 4.
Darlene married Michael Payne on May 14, 2005 in Ozawkie, KS. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2009. She later married J.C. Horta in 2012. He preceded her in November, 2012.
Survivors include her children, Ambrosia Martinez and James Vincent, step-children, Michael Vincent, Stephany Payne, Jeremy Payne, Josh Payne, Dixie (Aaron) Keller, her eight grandchildren, Serenity, Samuel, Lilly, Ryan, Kenzie, Ethan, Rylee, Alexander. And her mother, Rebecca Huerta, and her siblings, Becky Whitzel, Sharon Harris, Rose McCall, Jerry Watson and Maria Huerta.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Private inurnment will take place in Meriden Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Darlene F. Payne Memorial Fund for her grandchildren's education c/o Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604.
