Daniel H. Finch, 41, Topeka, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2007 at a local hospital.
Dan was born February 13, 1966 in Rolla, Missouri, the son of Daniel and Charlotte (Howard) Finch. He graduated from Rolla High School in 1984 and Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri in 1988.
He worked at radio stations in Lebanon and Kirksville, Missouri and Topeka as an award winning radio journalist and talk show host. He was currently employed with the Kansas State Department of Corrections as a Corrections Counselor.
He had been a resident of Topeka since 1993 and currently attended Fairlawn Nazarene Church.
Dan married Gayla J. Thurman on May 26, 1990 in Kirksville, Missouri. She survives. Other survivors include his parents; sister, Carin Allen and husband, Phil; grandmother, Alice Howard, all of Rolla, Missouri; nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends, including his dog, Jack.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2007 at Fairlawn Nazarene Church. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Dan will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
