Daniel Edington

Daniel Oliver Edington, 68 of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center. He was born on April 17, 1941 in Chanute, Kansas to Richard Glenn and Kathryn June (Armstrong) Edington.

Mr. Edington was a retired U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was an engineer for MEBA-Marine Engineer Beneficial Association where he later retired. He was also the chief engineer for five years for Keystone Shipping.

He is survived by his children, Camille Wertz, Sophia Edington, Daniel Edington, and Simona Gogian all of Topeka; his brothers, Richard Edington of Topeka, David Edington of Ozawkie, and Dean Edington of Missouri; his sister Joan Boyd of Shawnee Mission; eight grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
