Dan Snethen, 64, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006 at Midland Hospice House.
He was born February 5, 1942 in St. Joseph, MO. the son of Glen and Virginia Snethen.
He was a 1960 graduate of Scranton High School and served in the Army from 1964 to 1969. He was employed by Hallmark Cards of Topeka and was the owner/operator of Dan and Karen's Country Restaurant in Geneseo, Kan. He was an avid boxing fan, an accomplished woodworker and loved live country music shows.
He married Karen M. Foster on July 3, 1971 in Burlingame, Kan. She survives. He was preceded in death by a son, Todd Snethen in 1991, his parents and two brothers, Glen and Joe Snethen.
Other survivors include two sons, Dusty Snethen and his wife Melissa, Chad Snethen and his wife Jessica. Two grandchildren, Blake and Madison Snethen; a sister, Marcy Heft and her husband Wally, Sussex, WI and a brother, Pat Snethen and his wife Connie, Uniontown, OH.
Mr. Snethen will lie in state after 1:00 pm, Wednesday, Nov.8 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, Nov. 9 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Rochester Cemetery.
