Dale L. Talmage, 86, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at a Topeka hosptial. He was born on December 18, 1920 in Kansas City, KS, the son of Floyd L. and Bernice H. Richolson Talmage. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He had resided in Topeka since 1944. Dale obtained a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Washburn University in 1948. He was employed by Ed Marling Stores as a credit manager for 24 years before retiring in April of 1986. He was a member of Central Church of Christ, the Reserve Officers Association, the Lyons Club, AARP and volunteered for Stormont-Vail Medical Center for twelve years. Dale married Doris A. Riggin Spencer on October 6, 1961 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on November 20, 2006. Survivors include two sons, Douglas Wayne Talmage and wife, Judi of Olathe, Robert Talmage and wife, Lisa of Topeka, two daughters, Kathryn Suzanne Bonnel of Ft. Worth, TX, Paula Jill McGee and husband, David of The Woodlands, TX, one step-daughter, Gay Ann Hunter of Ft. Worth, TX, and eleven grandchildren. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Central Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Dale will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Central Church of Christ, 1250 S.W.
