Dale S. Gant was born on November 11, 1954 in Marshall, Missouri to Major and Margaret Gant. On May 10, 1975 he married Elizabeth Ann Hamilton. They raised son, Kimo'shaun and daughter, Marcena. Dale graduated from Topeka High School in 1973. He ran track, played football, and lettered in both. He was a member of VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America), he also attended Kaw Area Votech Autobody, Kaw Area Votech Print Shop, Local 165 Pipefitters School of Topeka, Orbital Welding Training of Kansas City Local 533, Pneumatic Control Training of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, OSHA Safety training in Topeka, OSHA Safety Training KCMO Local 533 and Valve Repair School of Lake Charles, Louisiana Local 106. Dale had acquired several licenses over the years (Journeyman Gas Fitter License, Journeyman Pipefitter License, Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter License, Master Mechanical License, and UA Welding Certification License).

Dale worked at Stauffer Publications for a couple of years before going into the Plumber and Pipefitter trade in 1977. He was a welder and Pipefitter for local 441 for forty years until he retired in October 2017.

Dale was a member of the Topeka Branch NAACP and he often volunteered at "The Gil Carter Initiative".

He was very family oriented and his family was always his top priority. Dale was all about helping people. Whenever someone needed his assistance, he made it a point to be there for them.

Dale had a passion for Top Alcohol Dragsters and Top Alcohol Funny Cars. He had built his own Tope Alcohol Supercharged, blown and injected Funny Bike.

Dale had one of those unforgettable personalities. He was loved by all who knew him well.

Dale was preceded in death by his father Major Gant who died in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth and his two children, Kimo'shaun and Marcena of Ozawkie, Kansas. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Gant of Topeka, Kansas; three brothers, Tony Gant, Sr. of Topeka, Kansas, Ramon Gant, of Topeka, Kansas and Ricky Gant of Kansas City, Missouri; and a whole host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws.

Dale will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66604, on Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 9am-3pm and the family will receive friends from 1pm-3pm. Private interment will be at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gil Carter Initiative, P.O. Box 1224, Topeka, KS 66601.
