Cynthia J. Daniels

January 5, 1961 — April 21, 2014

Cynthia Jeanne "Cindy" Daniels, 53, completed her journey in life on April 21, 2014, at Midland Hospice House. She was born January 5, 1961, in Silver Lake, Kansas, the daughter of Benjamin Charles and Marjorie Mae (Thomas) Daniels. She attended public schools and graduated from Silver Lake High School.

Cindy later moved to Topeka, where she was employed for 30 years in the food service industry until deciding to make a career change. Her heart was led to pursue healthcare, where her passion of taking care of others thrived. Cindy was still employed by the Kansas Neurological Institute, where she was a Direct Care Technician, CNA, and CMA. During work she always said, "This is my favorite job in the world!"

Cindy was always a happy person and always had a big smile on her face. She loved her family and was an unconditional mother, devoted grandmother, supportive sister, attentive aunt, and understanding friend. Being a woman of various interests, Cindy loved reading her western novels and watching her horrific horror movies.

Cindy leaves to cherish her memories her love, James Jones; daughters, Casaundra (Josh) Coller and Candice (Gary) Byrd-Coleman; stepsons, Maurice Spicer and Trevell Jones; siblings, Ben Daniels, Jr. of Lebanon, Missouri, Daniel Thomas Daniels of Iola, Kansas, Alva Daniels of Lebanon, Missouri, Greg Daniels of Louisburg, Missouri and Karla Jean Daniels of Burlington, Kansas; and best friend, Monique Wingo, who playfully gave her the nickname of "White Chocolate" and has been by her side through it all, along with a host of loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. Cindy will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

The family of Cindy wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern, and kindness shown to them during this difficult hour of bereavement. They will treasure all the deeds of kindness, prayers, food, the many cards and messages, and the kind words received. Please accept their prayers and heartfelt thanks.
