Crystal Elaine (Adams) Wolgast, 75, Topeka, went to be with our Heavenly Father Wednesday, December 21, 2016.
She was born July 4, 1941, in Thayer, Kansas, the daughter of Donald and Mina (Baker) Adams.
She graduated from Labette County Community High School in 1959 and attended Emporia State University.
Crystal was the Host Site Developer for Heartland SHARE at Let's Help in Topeka for 15 years, retiring in 2006.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Topeka, American Baptist Women's Ministries, where she served twice as association president of American Baptist Churches Central Region Northeast Area, and ABW Ministries Conference Chair for Central Region. As Northeast Area Moderator, she served as a member of the American Baptist Churches of the Central Region Board of Directors. She also served as North American Baptist Women's Union International Treasurer and a previous member and treasurer of Church Women United in Kansas. She was an active member of Kiwanis Club of Topeka and Shawnee Choral Society. She served as President of Topeka Kiwanis Foundation.
On July 8, 1961, she married Harold Wolgast at First Baptist Church in Emporia, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include their sons, Don (Debbie) Wolgast, Topeka and Dewayne "Wally" Wolgast, Medicine Lodge; sister, Rita Adams, Topeka; four granddaughters, Valorie (Mike) Bolle, Stephanie Wolgast, Krista Wolgast and Rebekah Wolgast; two great-grandchildren, Cecilia and Josiah Bolle; and numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Peggy Masenthin.
Crystal enjoyed singing, craft work, reading, puzzles and keeping in touch with family and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Topeka. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
