Cory Blake Harr, 31, of Topeka, passed away in a tragic tree trimming accident on Thursday, June 20, 2019.
He was born June 2, 1988, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Kent Harr and Tammy (Stonebraker) Morgan. He attended Topeka High School and then later attended Washburn Tech, achieving his Class A.
Cory had a genuine love for tree work and tenured an apprenticeship under his brother to become a climbing arborist. In a short time under three years, Cory had excelled and became a proficient and skilled climbing arborist. He obtained employment through Capital City Tree Care and worked his way up in a short time as a Foreman. Cory would tell great stories of him and his crew and all of his experiences with the daily rigors and dangers of his profession.
Cory was saving money to soon purchase his first home and provide his kids with the best life he could. He was very close with his mother, Tammy. He cared for her very much and she gave him many great character traits; lessons in kindness, love and empathy. Tammy raised her children as a single mother and sacrificed all she could give, so that they could have the very best. Cory was close with his brother, Brent Morgan, the two were inseparable.
Cory lived a life worth living. He had sacrificed many things to better not only himself, but those around him; especially his children. Cory was an outgoing and caring individual that would brighten your day with just his conversation. He would help anyone who wanted to better themselves and did this very thing with everyone he met; those individuals can attest to this. Cory was without question a man of honor and integrity. He was undoubtedly a faultless brother, son, uncle, friend and most importantly, a father.
He is survived by his parents; daughter, Jalanie Frost; son, Isaiah Provost-Harr; brother, Brent (Jasmine) Morgan; sister, AutumnRose Vance; half brothers, Shayne Harr and Sheldon Harr;girlfriend, Linda Baker; uncles, Tim Stonebraker, Jerry Stonebraker and Jeff Stonebraker; nephew, Za'Vion Morgan; he was especially close to Kimberly Davis and Ron Glenn. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother and grandfather, Nancy Jane and Harry Clyde Stonebraker.
