Cornelia M. Snyder

Cornelia M. "Corky" Snyder, 88, of Topeka, passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 at Brewster Place in Topeka. She was born on May 11, 1922, in Topeka, the daughter of William Carl and L. Julia Carney McMillen.

She attended Topeka public schools, graduating from Topeka High School in 1940. Following graduation, she attended Clarks Business School, and was employed by Topeka State Bank. She was a member of the THS Historical Society.

Corky was united in marriage to Marcus E. Snyder on September 21, 1946 in Topeka. He preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Grace McMillen in 2008. Survivors include her three sons, Mark (Rita) Snyder, Craig (Jan) Snyder, David (Linda) Snyder and her three grandsons.

According to her wishes, Mrs. Snyder was cremated. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 4125 SW Gage Blvd., Ste. LL-15, Topeka, KS 66604. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
