Cora Wright

Cora N. Wright, 101, of Topeka, passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2005 at Plaza West Regional Care Center.
She was born April 23, 1904 in Sailor Springs, IL., the daughter of Torna A. and Otilla Weidner Jones.
Cora lived her first 14 years in Sailor Springs, moving to Topeka in1918 to attend Strickler's Business College. Her secretarial career included positions with Wales Advertising, The Kansas Military District and the V.A. Hospital, retiring in 1972.
She was a longtime member of Central Park Christian Church, The National Association of Retired Federal Employees and was a 60 year member of the Optimisses Club. Cora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.
She married Homer F. Wright in 1925 in Winfield, Kansas. He preceded her in death in October, 1956. She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul A. Wright, four sisters, daughter in law, Janice Wright and son in law, Delbert Schuster.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary L. Schuster, Topeka; a son, Richard L. Wright, Prairie Village, KS; and Sandra Wright McKinley, Topeka; grandchildren; Kimberly Buxton and her husband Ron, Shari Beasley and her husband Jerry, J.B. Wright, Stephen Schuster, Susan Schuster, Kathryn Noller and her husband Steven, James Wright and his wife Misti and Lisa Razo and her husband Michael; and fifteen great grandchildren.
Mrs. Wright will lie in state after 12:00 noon Friday, January 6, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Heart of America Hospice, 3715 SW. 29th St., Suite 20, Topeka, Kansas 66614.
