Connie Baatrup

Connie K. Baatrup, 50, Topeka, entered into rest on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at a local hospital after 16 years of battling cancer. Connie was born in Topeka on October 23, 1958, the daughter of A.J. and Dixie (Kauffman) Pratt.

Connie was a graduate of Topeka West High School in 1976.

She married Nels Baatrup on January 21, 1978, at Countryside United Methodist Church in Topeka. They were married for 31 years.

Connie began her career in the State Department of Revenue. She later transferred to KDOC Administrative Specialist for the Legal Services Section and was currently employed at the time of her passing, having worked there for thirty years.

She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #4319 for the past six+ years, and the Topeka Dart Assn. for 23 years.

Her favorite pastimes included gardening, camping and darts.

Survivors include her husband, Nels; two sons, Nick Baatrup and Matt and his wife, Tina Baatrup; grandson, Brandon and her parents, A.J. and Dixie Pratt, all from Topeka.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm Thurs., April 9 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at 12-Noon at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery.
