Connie Lee Askew, 77, passed away peacefully at Midland Hospice in Topeka on December 18, 2020.
Connie was the daughter of Frances and Donald Christenson. She was born in Denver, CO on April 25, 1943. Connie graduated from Topeka High School and attended Washburn University. After school she worked as a buyer for Hall's Department Store in Kansas City. She was a flight attendant for TWA from 1965-1968, later working as a Quality Assurance agent on international flights from 1993-1996. She owned and operated an interior design business for over 20 years.
Connie was an avid tennis player and loved playing golf. She enjoyed rooting for her favorite team, the Kansas Jayhawks, especially during basketball season. One of her favorite things to do was to get together with a large group from her graduating class at Topeka High and go on trips.
Connie married Dr. J.B. Askew on December 31, 1968. They later divorced. Survivors include twin sons Scott (Stacey) and Grant; three grandchildren, Kelcey and Maeson Ballou and Cole Askew; her sister, Candy Mosely (Jim) and nieces Courtney (Steve) Elias, Erin (Landry) Strickland, and Michelle Templer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Kay Templer.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date.
