Colton Shelar

Our beloved son Colton Wayne Shelar, 22 months, of Marathon, Florida, passed away, Monday, September 13,2004 following a drowning accident in Topeka. Colton brightened the lives of everyone he touched with his endless energy for life.
Colton was born October 30, 2002 in Key West, Florida. He is a native "Conch" baby of the Florida Keys.
Colton is survived by his parents, Jeff and Stella Shelar,Marathon, FL; grandparents, Robert and Laura Scripter Durand, MI; Gene and Anne Berryman,Topeka, KS; special friends and surrogate grandparents, Ron and Terri Dobbs, Vassar, KS; God Father, Randy Bridgman, Sarasota,FL as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including a special uncle and his family, Eric, Andrea and Katherine Berryman Akron, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 18, 2004 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Colton will lie in state after 12:00 noon Friday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday. Cremation will follow the service with private inurnment at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Make A Wish Foundation of Kansas Inc., 2016 N.
