Collin J. Carter, 22, of Lee's Summit, MO passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020.

He was born September 10, 1997, in Kansas City, MO the son of Brian and Jolene (Sutton) Carter.

Collin graduated from Lee's Summit West High School in 2016 and was furthering his education at Metropolitan Community College –Longview Campus in Lee's Summit, MO. He participated in several years of premier soccer. He excelled in debate and was very interested in politics and business. Collin was intelligent and had a sweet nature.

Collin was employed by FedEx working in shipping and receiving. He took great pride in his work and was recognized for it.

Collin enjoyed floating the river with his family, he had a love for animals particularly dogs and was a skilled lyricist writing lyrics for his songs. He had a special bond with his family. Snow skiing with his aunt, Julie was very enjoyable as they would race one another to the bottom of the slopes. He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. He enjoyed learning how to cook. Cooking salmon dinners for his mother brought tremendous joy. He was a gentleman and treated women with great respect. Collin had a great desire to be a husband and a father.

Collin is survived by his father, Brian (Yvonne) Carter of Tecumseh and his mother, Jolene Carter of Lee's Summit; his brother, Adam (Megan) Carter; his grandmother, Vera Pearce; two aunts, Julie Hall and Shari Henry; five cousins, Riley Hall, Alex Hall, Andrea Juergens, Katie Juergens, Tanner Wideman and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dwight Sutton, Duane Pearce, Shirley (David) Bridgett, and Billy Carter; two best friends, Tanner Rardin and Nathan Giron.

Collin's loving hugs, beautiful smile and "I Love You's," will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Collin will lie in state Friday, August 28, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66606.

Those in attendance are asked to wear a mask.
