Col. Normanb. Gates
Col. Norman B. Gates, 76, passed away on Dec. 8, 2008. He was born on Aug. 7, 1932 to Charles and Mary Gates.
He married Carol Jester on Aug. 14, 1954 in Chanute, KS. His family included five children, Gwen, Sandy, Brian, Eric and Dana; 6 granddaughters; and 3 great grandsons. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 23 years.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thurs., Dec. 11 at East Side Baptist Church, 4425 SE 29th St., Topeka, KS 66605. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to His Way Ministry, P.O. Box 400, Ottawa, KS 66067 or East Side Baptist Church for Missions. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
