Clifford L. "Hutch" Hutchinson, 84, of Topeka, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012.
He was born September 1, 1928 in Vermillion, KS, the son of James Clifford and Mabel Fern (Dailey) Hutchinson.
Mr. Hutchinson was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, retiring after 33 years of service in 1985.
Hutch was an avid bowler and golfer and was a member of Shawnee Lake Mens Golf Club.
He married Doris V. Heying on October 28, 1947 in Holton, KS. She preceded him in death on January 5, 1997. Survivors include a family friend and companion, Harriet Boisvert, Topeka; a daughter, Cheryl "Janie" Seymour, Kansas City, MO; a son, Clifford R. "Bob" (Lyn) Hutchinson, Meriden; 3 grandchildren, Jeff (Brooke) Wichman, Joe Wichman, Kansas City, MO and Wendy (Hardy) Higgins, Meriden ; 3 great-grandchildren, Clayton and Cooper Wichman and Morgan Higgins; two sisters, Shirley Lorene Fisher, Buena Vista, CO and Doris Mae (Eldon) Mulroy, Goff, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Lyle Hutchinson.
A funeral ceremony will be 11 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Hutch will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St # 100, Topeka, KS 66614 or to American Heart Association, 5375 SW 7th St., Topeka, KS 66606.
