Cleora O'Dell

Cleora O'Dell, 92, of Topeka, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010, at Aldersgate Village.
She was born December 1, 1917 in Topeka, the daughter of Walter C. and Edith (Fager) Moll.
She was a graduate of Topeka High School and retired from the Kansas Dept. of Revenue. She was a member of Oakland Rebekah Lodge, Rice Senior Citizens Center, and Eastminster Presbyterian Church. She had an extraordinary talent for playing piano, and especially enjoyed volunteering her time at local nursing homes.
Cleora married Claude N. O'Dell on Dec. 21, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Engelken and Janice Jordan, both of Topeka; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Moll of Richmond, MO.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Mrs. O'Dell will lie in state after 3 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart of America Hospice, 3715 SW 29th, Topeka, KS 66614.
