Claude Elton Briant, Jr.

Claude Elton Briant, Jr., 62, of Auburn, passed away, Sunday, October 6, 2002 at a Topeka hospital.

Mr. Briant worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 42 years before he retired in November 2001. He also served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Dover Federated Church.

He was born December 2, 1939 in Harveyville, Ks. the son of Claude E. and Fay Marken Briant, Sr. He moved to Topeka at an early age and graduated from Topeka High School and Clarks School of Business.

He married Margaret Ann Todd on July 5, 1964 in Dover, Ks.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Jenifer Ann Briant On April, 3, 1972.

One Son: Douglas Briant Wichita, Ks.

Two Daughters: Janette Briant Topeka, Ks.
Debra Briant Topeka, Ks.
Two sisters: Freda Bowden Wichita, Ks.
Clara Smith Topeka, Ks.

One Granddaughter, One Step-Grandson

Funeral Servcies will be held 10:00 a.m October 9, 2002 At Dover Federated Church Dover, Ks. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery. Mr. Briant will lie in state from 1:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel October 8, 2002. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00-7:30 pm that evening. Memorial contributions may be made to Dover Federated Church Building Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.
