Claude A. Barnhill, 88, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Lexington Park Assisted Living in Topeka.
He was born December 2, 1931, in Pitt Co, North Carolina, the son of Nathan Claude Barnhill and Lydia Carson-Barnhill. He received a Bachelor Degree and Medical Degree from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He served as a Commander in the Navy.
Claude was employed as a Physician & Staff Psychiatrist at Menninger Clinic & VA Med Center for 26 years, retiring in 1991.
Dr. Barnhill was a member of the Family Service and Guidance Center Board, Lutheran School in Topeka Board, Lutheran Social Service Board, Quail Cove Homeowners Assn. Board, and the Topeka Art Guild Board.
Claude married Nadine Patricia Barnhill on October 2, 1982 in Overland Park. Survivors include his Wife, Nadine, Son, Jason W. Barnhill, Son, Alan W. Barnhill, Step-Son, Mark W. Lauterbach, Step-Daughter, Lisa M. Harrelson, Step-Son, Eric Lauterbach, and his sister Marcella Jenkins. He was preceded in death by a wife, Nancy Wing Barnhill, Sister, Jacqueline Early, and his brother, Tracy Barnhill.
A graveside funeral service with Military Honors will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, Kansas.
