Claris Barngrover, 99, formerly of Topeka, passed away February 19, 2015, in Ellisville, Missouri.
Claris was born February 24, 1915 in Glen Elder, Kansas. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1933. Claris married Glen Barngrover in 1937; they were married for 72 years. She lived in Topeka for 88 years, and moved to St. Louis, MO in 2009.
Claris has been a member of University United Methodist Church, Topeka, for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey German and Lulu Tankersley, and husband, Glen Barngrover.
Claris is survived by her three children, Larry (Connie) Barngrover, Donna Jeter, and Jerry (Debbie) Barngrover; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great- grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
