Clara M. Dinger, 91, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2006. She was born on August 21, 1915 in Topeka; the daughter of James and Myrtle Lydic.
Clara married Oscar Proctor (deceased), with whom she had one son, James R. Proctor. She later married William Dinger on January 20, 1962.
Clara worked from 1956 until 1982 as a Court Clerk for the State of Kansas. She was a longtime member of University United Methodist Church. In her spare time, Clara loved to knit, go camping, and to go motorcycle riding.
She is survived by Peggy Good, daughter-in-law and her husband, J.D.; grandsons, Robert Proctor and Jonathan Proctor and wife, Sabrina; great-grandsons, Zachary and Josh and great-granddaughter, Tori, all of Arkansas City, KS. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Clara was preceded in death by her husbands, Oscar Proctor and William Dinger; son, James Proctor; her parents; and a sister, Pearl Engstrom.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel with burial to follow at Topeka Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. She will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
