C.J. Morgan, Ii
C.J. "Joe" Morgan, II, 74, of Topeka, died Monday, May 9, 2011. Joe was born September 25, 1936 in Columbus, Kansas, the son of C.J. and Dorothy Lee (Bergman) Morgan.
He graduated from Washburn University and Kansas University with degrees in Psychology. He was employed by the Menninger Foundation, The Community Addiction Treatment Center, and 32 years for Topeka State Hospital before retiring.
Joe married Donna N. Heydt on November 3, 1956 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Lisa Schroder of Topeka, two grandchildren, Ky and Ceeja Schroder, his sister-in-law, Nina Johnson of Topeka, a brother-in-law, Fred Meinert of Citrus Heights, CA and many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jory Morgan Schroder on February 28, 1987.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66608. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting the family.
