Christine Virginia(Lea) Gaston

Christine Virginia (Lea) Gaston, 91, Topeka, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016. She was born August 18, 1924 in Conway, Arkansas, the daughter of James and Beryl (Patton) Lea.
As a military wife, Christine lived in numerous places and never met a stranger. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and her favorite hobby was playing bridge with numerous groups. She was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church and TOPS.
Christine married Lawrence R. Gaston on June 1, 1947 in Huston, TX. They were married 56 years before he preceded her in death on January 15, 2004.
Survivors include three daughters: Pamela (Greg) Camblin, Poquoson, VA, Laura (Bill) Squires, Blue Springs, MO, Olivia Petersen, Topeka, one son: Dr. Lawrence Gaston, Jr. of Lawrence, KS, grandchildren: Cody, Mandy, Jenee, Shelley, Natalie and Haley, great-grandchildren: Max, Lucas, Caleb, Wesley and Oliver and one brother: Pat (Mary) Lea, Batesville, AR.
Services will be 1 pm on Thursday, June 2 at Countryside United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6 - 8 pm at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Rd, Topeka, KS 66611 or Arab Shrine Temple, 1305 S Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66612.
